Escritora e arte-educadora formada em Jornalismo pela ECA/USP, cursou Letras na FFLCH/USP, estudou História da Arte em Florença e Mitologia na Grécia. Tem mais de 20 livros publicados, um deles no exterior. Viajou por países africanos e publicou África: Contos do Rio, da Selva e da Savana destacando a filosofia que permeia essas histórias.

Muitas de suas obras receberam prêmios e o selo Altamente Recomendável da FNLIJ, participam dos catálogos da Feira de Bologna e da Feira de Frankfurt e têm sido selecionadas pelo MEC/PNBE e PNLD. A cultura brasileira, africana, indígena e latino-americana e seus mitos estão entre seus temas principais. Ministra cursos e oficinas criativa integrando literatura, artes e música.
